from 20 reviewsThis little board has such a mix of sensors and capabilities, and is close to my idea of the 'ultimate' IOT board.
I am still testing it and its possible use cases, but forsee that this will not be my last unity sensor in my smart home arsenal.
Use for CO2 monitoring and like the led colour to indicate status.
Requires fine-tuning of sensitivity levels but works well.
A really nice little device. Works as expected without issue.
If you run Home Assistant, having reliable presence detection will unlock a world of automation possibilities. The Unity Sensor does this incredibly well, and more.
Perfect fit, would have liked a cut out for stemma connector, doesn’t feel printed
Have put this in my kitchen and will very soon be buying more to go around my house. Super easy to setup and works like a charm right out of the gate. Service and customer support is also outstanding. Stop reading reviews and just buy one!
The device was easy to set up and get it's data into Home Assistant. I had an issue where the mmWave proximity reader didn't properly detect moving people, only still. I contacted them via chat and had a fix within the hour (reset mmWave board though HA, disabled entity by default). Device booted up in 10 seconds and worked very well after!
After deciding to fall into the home automation rabbit hole I picked up the Unity sensor for its small form factor and many sensors out of the box.
My end to end beginners test was to set up home assistant, WLED on an ESP32 board with an LED light strip and finally the unity board to only turn on the lights with human presence. Setting up the sensor was a simple matter of plugging it in and connecting to the Unity’s wifi network, I did this by following the relevant documentation from the GitHub page. Home Assistant picked up the device instantly and I was able to set up an automation using the movement sensor.
I am extremely pleased with this device and how less daunting it has made the whole home automation experience. I opted for the case which is well designed and all was thoughtfully packaged.
The human presence sensor on the board is second to none, the lights will stay on when I am in the room but sitting still which seems to be the pitfall of other sensors on the market, where they will turn off after some time.
I am looking forward to integrating it into more rooms around my home!
Just set up my first unity sensor, currently using Aqara FP2 and Tuya, this one appears to be excellent, very accurate and lots of data in Home Assitant. Given the price versus an FP2 these are great, I will be ordering more.
I'm currently testing multple sensors for presense detection in a small room (3x2 meters) and it beats everything i've tested it against. The temperature reading is reading 12C too high but that's fixable in the config. Testing some of the other features and will probably order some more once i find a way to mount these recessed in the ceiling. Great price as well!
Very compact and well design sensor. Great customer support also!
Finally I have found the perfect human wave presence sensor board for my Home Assistant setup as the Unity Sensor offers an all-in-one ESP32 board that supports ESPHome with minimal fuss for an affordable price!
